1. Personal information we collect
The operator of AnyCopy (the “Operator”) respects your privacy and complies with applicable privacy laws.
AnyCopy does not collect your name, email address, phone number, account or sign-in information, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, usage history, behavioral analytics, or diagnostic information.
AnyCopy has no account registration, sign-in, advertising, user tracking, or analytics features.
2. Screen capture and OCR data
AnyCopy uses the macOS Screen Recording permission only after you initiate “Capture Text.” When you select a rectangular region of the screen, AnyCopy captures one still image of that selected region.
AnyCopy does not continuously record your screen or capture it in the background. It does not capture the mouse pointer, system audio, microphone audio, or video.
Purposes of processing
- Recognize text visible on the screen
- Proofread recognized text on the device
- Copy recognized text to the macOS clipboard
- Display the copy result over the selected region
- Save the captured image when you enable image saving
Text recognition is performed locally on your Mac using Apple’s Vision framework. On supported devices, recognized text may be proofread locally using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework.
Captured images and recognized text are not transmitted to the Operator’s servers or any external server and are not disclosed to third parties.
3. Storage and retention of screen capture data
By default, a captured image is held temporarily in device memory only while AnyCopy processes the image and displays the result. AnyCopy does not write it to a file.
Recognized text is copied to the macOS clipboard at your request. macOS manages that text until you copy something else or clear the clipboard.
“Save Capture Image” is disabled by default. If you enable it, the selected screen region is saved as a PNG file in your Downloads folder and remains there until you delete it.
The Operator cannot access or remotely delete files on your device and does not retain server-side copies of captured images or recognized text.
4. App settings stored on your device
AnyCopy may store settings such as the capture shortcut, text recognition languages, copy-result duration and effects, and whether captured images should be saved locally on your Mac.
These settings are used only to provide app functionality. They are not used to identify you, are not transmitted off your device, and can be removed by resetting the app or deleting it.
5. Disclosure to third parties
The Operator does not disclose or sell personal information, screen captures, or recognized text to third parties.
Apple’s ScreenCaptureKit, Vision, and Foundation Models frameworks are used to process screen captures and text on your device. AnyCopy does not transmit captured images or recognized text to Apple or any other external server as part of this processing.
Information may be handled only when required by law and through a valid legal process, and only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
6. Outsourced processing and international transfers
The Operator does not collect personal information through AnyCopy, outsource its processing, or transfer captured images or recognized text outside your country.
7. Advertising and tracking
AnyCopy does not use advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics SDKs, tracking technologies, advertising identifiers, personalized advertising, or third-party analytics services.
8. Managing Screen Recording permission
You can change or revoke AnyCopy’s Screen Recording permission at any time in macOS System Settings. If you revoke permission, screen-region capture and text recognition will no longer be available.
Revoking permission does not affect other app features or files already stored on your device.
9. Your rights
Because AnyCopy does not retain personal information on a server, the Operator has no stored user information to access, correct, or delete.
You directly control text in the macOS clipboard, captured images saved in Downloads, AnyCopy settings stored on your device, and Screen Recording permission in macOS.
10. Children under 14
AnyCopy does not provide account registration and does not collect personal information, including age information, from users.
11. Data security
AnyCopy processes screen captures and recognized text on your device without sending them to an external server. The Operator follows the principles of data minimization and on-device processing to prevent unnecessary collection or transmission.
12. Privacy contact
For questions, complaints, or requests concerning privacy and AnyCopy’s data practices, please contact:
13. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in applicable law, policy, or AnyCopy features. Material changes will be announced through the AnyCopy website or app before they take effect.
